Welcome Fellow Nomsters,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my little foodcorner! Let me introduce myself to you. My name is Uly, I’m in my twenties and I live in The Netherlands (Holland). The love of food has always been a big part of my life. Ever since I can remember dinner was my favorite part of the day and nothing seemed more enjoyable to me than eating something delicious my Mom prepared for my Dad and I. I’m very lucky to have a Mom who’s such a great cook. In my early years I ate a lot of Asian (inspired) food which she cooked in remembrance of her homeland Indonesia, but later on the meals she served varied and became more and more exotic (at least they were back then). From mouthwatering Italian pasta’s (made from scratch) to fresh sushi from Japan, French braised duck to Southern fruit pies. I followed her like a shadow watching her every move and ofcourse nibbling on whatever food I could grasp when she wasn’t looking..
When I think of food I also think of love, exploring and sharing. I love cooking for people, having dinner with my friends and trying new products or dishes. You could drop me in any foreign supermarket and it’d be the equivalent of a kid in Disneyworld to me. I’d be strolling down the aisles – my eyes glimmering of excitement – and hours would pass by unnoticed. Since I’m known to be a Nomster and people have been asking me to tell them more about certain recipes, restaurant tips or these (weird) products I’ve tried, I decided to share this information on a larger scale. This way I’m able to combine my love of food with my love for being creative in general (writing, photographing, research, DIY).
I will share all my food adventures with you on www.nomster.nl in both Dutch and English. I’ll try to post new articles on a regular basis, but pardon me if there’s a larger gap in between new posts. My fulltime job and two other sites also take up a large amount of my time, so bare with me! Enjoy reading and feel free to leave a comment and/or feedback!
