Are you looking for a quick and easy recipe for a delicious spinach salad with an Asian twist? Then look no further and continue reading this post!

When I visited my old roommate she surprised me with a delicious spinach salad. I watched her making this meal and it’s luckily a very simple and easy to make dish. It has two main ingredients – spinach and cherry tomatoes – and the adding of the roasted sesame sauce gives it an Asian twist and a much richer taste.

 

Ingredients (2p)

spinach (500 gr)
cherry tomatoes (300 gr)
olive oil
garlic (2 cloves)
onion
salt&pepper
roasted sesame sauce
sesame seed

 

 

Directions
Start off by finely chopping the onion and garlic cloves and fry them for about two minutes in olive oil untill it becomes fragrant. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and let them simmer for a couple of minutes. Finally add the spinach and carefully stir everything for a bit untill the spinach is wilted. Seasone everything with a dash of salt and pepper .

Get your fancy plate or bowl ready and place the salad on it by scooping everything out of the pan using a draining spoon. Finally add some roasted sesame sauce which you can buy at your local Asian supermarket (Dutchies can find this at AH). This sesame sauce tastes smoky, creamy and adds a little sweetness as well. So far I’ve only tried the one by the brand Kewpie and I thoroughly enjoy the taste of it. Finally sprinkle some sesame seed on top for a little crunch, extra flavour and because it simply looks great.
